This simple, but very modern, high quality compact size electric aluminium roller garage door is designed for all single width size garages up to 3000mm wide including the guide width. it uses a smaller 55mm curtain slat to the larger 77mm slat also offered in our shop.

This roller door was developed by GDO to offer a compact roller garage door with a very simple, wall mounted push button operation, for everyone who uses their garage for any purpose where you walk to the garage, either from outside or inside, but always as a pedestrian and therefore why would you need a remote control system? It is perfect for integral garages, but also for any detached garage where you always walk to the garage anyway. In fact this door is perfect for anyone who simply doesn't use their garage for vehicle storage.
If you are regularly entering and exiting your garage with your vehice, then we do suggest remote control operation.

A hold to run wall mounted control box gives you door operation control internally and you can also have an optional external keyswitch for operating the door from outside if required (hard wired). This hold to run control for the door means there is no necessity for any infra red beams or a bottom edge safety sensor as the door operator has full control of the door during operation and can stop at any point during operation it is essential the operator is in full view of the door for this type of hold to run control.

Made to measure sizes up to a maximum ordering width of 3000mm - including the guides either side.
Maximum height for this door is 2225mm plus the height of the roll and endplates, which is 205mm x 205mm at all sizes

The roller door curtain is offered in 15 superb high quality finished colours and 3 of those colours are at no charge with 12 other colours with a small surcharge.
The guides, endplates and half hood are also finished in the same colour as you choose for the curtain when ordering, again with 3 standard colours at no charge and a small surcharge for the 12 premium colours. So many people think all roller shutter doors are the same but the curtain is a good example of where a lot of quality differences are, just in terms of their manufacturing process, quality and guage of aluminium, plus the most important process, the final paint finishing. Poor paint finishing will result in fast degradation of the external surface of the door. 

The door also has an internal manual emergency override winding handle system to operate in the event of a power failure. This facility is incorporated into the motor drive so is always positioned on the the same side as the motor side chosen. There is an options for an external low level manual override system if you have no ther access to your garage. This device takes the winding system down the wall to waist height to then present outside for access externally in the event of power failure.

This is the Half Hood cover version for this roller door, where the half hood section provides an aluminium front fascia section for when you dont have sufficient headroom and part of the curtain might be exposed externally without a fascia.

We would always recommend you have the full hood cover version for any roller shutter door because it does protect and provide better overall results but this half hood version does save you some money if you are not overly bothered by a better sealing against wind and dust generally.
 

Domestic or light commercial applications.

The GDO ROLL 55 is manufactured from high quality 55mm deep double skinned aluminium slats with a foam filled insulated core. It is a made to measure, 240V, electric tube motor operated, roller garage door, manufactured to the exact millimetre in width and height as standard.

The door is electrically operated as standard and incorporates an internal emergency manual release in case of a power failure. This is a winding handle process using a winding handle provided attaching via a hook to the eye of the motor drive. This can be specified as either on the left or right as viewed from inside the garage (same side as motor).

The curtain of this door rolls around a steel barrel which is supported either side by steel endplates which have a dimension of 205mm x 205mm, which is the headroom required if you wish to hide the roll. Always allow for a maximum 50mm of curtain ‘hang down’ when the door is opened if the opening height is critical to you. This is the same on all roller garage doors.

The guide height as used for ordering size, does not included the endplate size above it and the loss of drive through height with the bottom slat hang down when open

Door guides either side are 60mm wide and 34mm deep and the door is ordered using the ‘OVERGUIDE’ width from the curtain and guides combined.

The door can be fitted BEHIND or INBETWEEN the structural opening as required, but always check you have order the correct dimensions to take into account the guides and endplates (full hood cover, if ordered, is the same dimensions)

All ROLL 55 Doors have 60mm wide aluminium guides

These measurements are correct for behind fit installations, please contact us for guidance inbetween fit installations.

Clear drive through opening height = guide height - 50mm (to allow for the bottom slat hand-down into the guide). The 205mm endplates incorporating the motor and barrel are to be added onto the guide height to give your total height required (Overall Height)

The half hood provides an aluminium front and top section only which is a 90 degree folded profile to give a front fascia of 205mm in total.
