Car Park Security Shutters

Samson Doors offer rolling grilles and shutter specifically for car park applications, where security and reliability are key. What is also a major factor is electric motor rating, where a high performance and rated motor is required to cope with potentially 24 hour use and multiple operations every hour. A car park shutter or grille is essential to control the cars accessing and to protect those inside. Barriers are often used in conjunction with a shutter and the opening times will dictate the shutter closing. Control for the shutters are often done via ANPR for pay as you go parking, but also can be remote controls or key pads when they offer private parking for residents. An example of typical application might be a larger than private car park with 15 plus car spaces, where a three phase electric high usage motor would be required to offer up to 30 full movements per hour. For small car parks with maybe up to 6 cars you could use a 240V single phase motor drive and this would be fine for around 8 full operations per hour, even if this might only be once or twice a day anyway, it is important the motor never overheats and cuts out.

Underground Car Park Grilles

Parking security grilles are more common in underground car parks where a large amount of ventilation is required to control exhaust fumes and general air flow. We offer roller grilles with up to 80% open air flow. With a perforated solid roller shutter curtain or one with punched open selections the airflow will be far lower but sections can be placed wherever required to optimise effectiveness. Car park rolling grilles are made from either steel or aluminium sections and the Hormann roller grilles offer fast and quiet door operation with safety technology built in. Available with galvanised sheet steel cladding to keep the curtain and operator protected against wear. We can offer sizes up to 12000mm wide and up to 8000mm high and the opening speeds and performance is affected by the size and type of curtain required.
