Markilux MX-1 Compact
The Markilux MX-1 Compact's combination of a protective fixed canopy and an awning is one of architectural grandeur.
Defying the previous aims of most retractable domestic awnings, the MX-1 Compact still achieves a compact aesthetic and acts as the baby brother to the MX-1. With various fabric and front profile colour options available, as well as unique LED ambient lighting, the ideal aesthetic and ambience can be created with your MX-1.
Details
Experience, knowledge of design and technology, as well as aesthetic appeal and functionality are combined in the Markilux MX-1 Compact awning - a combination of a protective roof and an awning.
Whilst the awning is not projected, the cassette has an overall depth of 380mm, meaning that it is able to provide a level of shading and rain protection for windows and facades when not in use.
The smaller brother to the markilux MX-1 fulfils even unusual wishes by many equipment features, such as the folding arms with bionic tendon technology, 5 - 25° tilt adjustment via a tilt joint, water drainage via an integrated gutter in the front profile and a multitude of optional drive technologies, colour variations and additional equipment.
In spite of its dimensions, the markilux MX-1 Compact has a fascinatingly lightweight appearance. Its generous proportions and progressive style represent a conscious facade design. The built-in LED lighting options for the front profile aid in making this an extremely functional product beyond just an awning, and the lighting can be used without operating the awning itself.
When extended, the MX-1 Compact will shade an area of up to 7000mm x 4150mm. The width of the awning is purpose made to order in millimetres and the projection is in fixed steps of 500mm, but has some adjustment when installing, along with the pitch adjustment affecting the projection too.

The Markilux MX-1 Compact should be installed by a trained engineer with appropriate lifting equipment and installation tools and fixings. It is a heavy awning requiring great attention to the fixings points and suitability of structure for fixing.
Samson can arrange installation with our own engineers to most parts of the UK mainland.
When measuring up for any awning we advise you do try to get as large as possible for maximum sun protection. All Markilux awnings have an adjustable main fabric cover for the angle of the cover.
The projection of the awning can be stopped at any point between the closed and maximum projection depending how much shade is required and for this MX-1 Compact model this is done effortlessly with a remote control handset.
The dimensions for ordering awnings are the OVERALL width of the cassette and the fabric will always be smaller depending on the awning model. The projection is the maximum distance when fully extended for the awning cover and front profile combined.
The brackets for installation will vary in their positions depending on the awning model and the width required.
2 brackets are the minimum, with up to 4 required on the widest MX-1 Compact sizes.
The position is critical and the brackets are usually directly behind the position of the arms with some tolerance on many models.
Please make sure the intended stucture for installation is suitable and if there are any doubts then speak to us about spreader brackets to spread the loads onto more stable sections if possible.
