Why Are There So Many Different Security Shutter Types?
The many different security roller shutter types available are to cater for different sizes, different features, and also different levels of security requirements.
Samson Doors provide one of the widest range of high quality security roller shutters and grilles anywhere in the UK and the different types available are for so many different reasons, depending on your requirements and site constraints
For example the basic Seceuroscreen 1500 is a lightweight aluminium foam filled security shutter used mainly for low security risk applications as well as bar and serving hatches and more often used for insulation against sound and heat too.
The security provided is OK, but the shutter would not stand up to a determined attack with tools. The Seceuroshield 3801 however is a double skinned extruded aluminium slat construction and has been tested to level 1 'secured by design' and is ideal for higher risk applications such as exposed properties without occupants. The shutter will resist aggressive attacks and in small sizes is incredibly strong and solid.
We have security shutters available for sizes ranging from around 700mm wide right up to 7000mm wide with optional security ratings either as LPS1175 certified or Secure by Design and even higher levels of ratings to SR4
Obviously the price differences can be quite large between 'perceived securit'y and 'actual security'. We always make people aware that although you may see lower prices for security shutters you really do need to be sure they are going to give you the actual security you expect and need for your business or home.
Security shutters can only be as secure as the weakest fixing point and on some buildings and structures fixing the shutter itself can be a problem and extra steel work may be required to ensure the products work effectively.
