How does an expanding and collapsible barrier work?

The principal is simple, but the build and quality of the steel profiles and components used are very important. The collapsible barrier system as used with a trackless arrangement is just like a large garden trellis on its side, with steel section profiles connected together to form a barrier when extended and with steel channel sections at either end.

The steel trackless barriers expand by pulling at either end, but often one side is fixed to a wall or opening in a doorway, so you pull on the free side to expand the steel ‘trellis’ and then either fix this leading edge to another wall or leave the end free standing on a trolley with wheels for stability.

The construction and quality is important because you can order up to 1800mm wide with a 2500mm maximum height, so the stability and strength is tested in the larger sizes.

You can jon systems together for unlimited width in theory and with the right trolleys and wheels used you can also pull the barriers out to sit at angles to each other and barrier off corners or make uneven barriers where required and not just straight lines.
